    Relearn Deflections With Hanbei First
    • Head to Hanbei the Undying at the Dilapidated Temple before pushing deeper into Ashina and clear his basic drills again, even if you remember the opening hours.
    • Spend a few minutes repeating Step Dodge, Consecutive Deflections, and the perilous attack lessons so deflect timing, jump counters, and thrust recognition come back before a real boss punishes you for rust.
    • Once the rhythm returns, do a short loop in Ashina Outskirts and focus on breaking posture instead of panic-rolling away from every exchange.
    Unlock Mikiri Counter And Whirlwind Slash Early
    • Talk to the Sculptor after earning your first skill point so you can open the Shinobi Arts tree and grab Whirlwind Slash as an easy early combat art.
    • Prioritize Mikiri Counter soon after, because thrust attacks show up early and the counter is one of the cleanest ways to punish spears and other lunging enemies.
    • Use Whirlwind Slash when normal cuts keep glancing off guards, then switch back to tight deflects and Mikiri timing when a duel turns into a posture fight.
    Practice Your Early Prosthetic Tools
    • Re-equip the Loaded Shuriken and practice using it to interrupt archers, chase mobile enemies, and start clean follow-ups instead of throwing it for raw damage.
    • Keep the Flame Vent or Loaded Axe ready when you revisit stubborn early enemies, because fire helps against vulnerable foes and the axe crushes shield users.
    • If you already unlocked Prosthetic Arts, mix in Chasing Slice or Mid-Air Prosthetic use so tool swaps feel deliberate again before you tackle tougher minibosses.
